According to Gadot’s interview with Vogue, she and her husband first met in 2006 during a “chakra/yoga retreat type of party” in the Israeli desert. At the time, Gadot was only 21 years old. She recalls that while they were both part of the same group of friends, they didn’t really know each other. However, something sparked between them from the moment they started talking. Once they got home, Gadot couldn’t resist asking Varsano out on a date, even if it might have been too soon. To her delight, he was equally smitten and described their connection as being “glued together.” They kissed at sunrise and held hands on the drive back to Tel Aviv, which Varsano recalls as being a beautiful moment.
